We are looking for a PhD or Post Doc candidate for a project “A climate event portal for knowledge discovery” at the Chair of Cartography, Technical University of Munich.
We are delighted to announce the opening of a PhD or post doc research position for 3+2 years, salary group (75% E13 TV-L). The start date is September 1st 2018 or earlier. The position is full-time, benefits-eligible academic professional on a 12-month service basis. The PhD or post doc researcher will be working with multidisciplinary teams in a Research Cluster on “Bavarian Synthesis Information Citizen Science Portal for Climate research and Scientific Communication”.
We expect relevant knowledge profile, high level of academic writing, as well as, excellent communication and teamwork from candidates. Candidates should have accomplished M.Sc. or PhD in an appropriate discipline such as cartography, computer science, GI science, and geodetic engineering. Desirable skills are focused on:
- spatiotemporal data structure and query language;
- visual analytics;
- machine learning;
- computer programming;
- design of user tests on open data portal
German language skills are highly appreciated.
